View RecordsRockwall County, Texas links a judicial case search and a District Clerk for felony matters. Identify the court and case type before seeking an official copy.
For a criminal court case in Rockwall County, Texas, open the county’s Records and Transparency page and choose Judicial Records Search. The separate Inmate Lookup covers jail, booking and bond information. Public Access Records is another service for records such as vital documents; its name does not make it the criminal-court search.
Collect the defendant’s name, court, cause number, filing date and case type from a possible match. Compare dates and other available identifiers before connecting the result to a person. Keep a booking reference separately from the court number: release from jail does not establish dismissal, acquittal or the sentence in a prosecution.
The County Clerk’s Misdemeanor Department holds Class A and B misdemeanor cases arising from offenses in Rockwall County. Its page links the Judicial Case Search Portal for case numbers and court dates. Send requests for copies to [email protected], identifying the case and the particular document needed.
The department offers an in-person criminal background search for $5 and requires proof of ID. This is the stated misdemeanor search service, not a promise of a statewide or felony check. The County Clerk is at 1111 E. Yellowjacket Lane, Suite 100, Rockwall, TX 75087; call 972-204-6300. Posted hours are Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m., with final transactions by 4 p.m.
For felony case information, the County Clerk expressly directs readers to the District Clerk at 972-204-6500. That office maintains district-court proceedings and judgments. Its address is 1111 East Yellowjacket Lane, Suite 200, Rockwall, TX 75087. Office hours are Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m.; financial transactions should finish by 4:30 p.m.
Ask for the judgment, dismissal or other named filing using the cause number and court. If the case number is unknown, give the name used in court and an approximate filing year and explain that you need help locating the file. Do not assume the misdemeanor office can search the felony file for you.
An online case listing helps identify a proceeding; the clerk-held document supplies the order’s actual terms. Tell the correct clerk whether you need an ordinary copy or a certified copy, which pages or orders you need, and whether you want pickup or delivery. This avoids buying a full file when a recipient only requested the final disposition.
The reviewed criminal-service pages do not publish a complete copy-and-certification price or guaranteed fulfillment time. Obtain a quote for your document, certification and delivery before payment. The published $5 misdemeanor background-search fee is not a stated certified-copy total. If a record is unavailable online, ask the clerk whether it is held offline or access is restricted rather than treating no result as proof that no case exists.
A Rockwall court file is local case evidence. For a Texas repository record or a fingerprint-based review of your own history, use Texas DPS’s separate service instructions. DPS says applicants fingerprinted for a requesting agency do not receive their report directly from DPS through that agency check; they can ask the agency about a copy or arrange a Personal Review.
For an apparent error in a Rockwall order or docket, identify the exact entry and ask its clerk what review procedure applies. If the problem is a Texas DPS name-search match to the wrong person, DPS directs the subject to fingerprint-based personal review. A corrected court copy and a corrected repository entry are separate matters; retain the response from each office.
Record correction is also different from expunction. Rockwall publishes an expunction agency list that includes the District Clerk, County Clerk and DPS and warns that outside agencies may need to be included. Use the court’s actual process for eligibility and orders; simply finding a blank online result does not establish that an expunction has occurred.
